Event Details

BANG is a get together of Business Continuity management people who are entertained during the evening by a "controversial" guest speaker, in a social atmosphere. It is FREE and held on the last Wednesday of each month, in Central London.

This month's speaker will be risk management practitioner, Gareth Jones with an activity: "D'oh!" - learning from incidents, events and crises.  Do we learn?  Is it all hit and miss?

We will discuss the best "D'oh!" examples.

BC people have an opportunity to network with like-minded individuals. Numbers are limited to the first 70.

Gareth Jones
Gareth has long standing experience of evaluation of teams and assurance of governance and controls.  He assists organizations to develop or improve sustainable arrangements that will provide the best possible capability within the constraints that the organization places upon their crisis or BCM programmes. In addition to the usual span of planning, training and exercising, he is an experienced exercise designer and director for major exercises.  Gareth also has experience in ‘uncertainty reduction’ techniques such as design and facilitation of scenario planning and wargames.
Gareth has 8 years consulting experience gained with Marsh Risk Consulting and as the lead advisor for Ernst & Young clients.   Prior to this commercial experience, Gareth served for 21 years in the UK Royal Air Force Regiment (Survive to Operate Branch) retiring as a squadron leader in 2001.   His Air Force service was varied and he gained strategic experience as the Air Force risk manager for nuclear, biological and chemical defence during operations in the 1990s.   He has served as a commander in operations and represented the UK within international evaluation and standardization forums.
